Every phone, tablet, smartwatch, and other electronic device that is no longer needed, or that has been left behind in lost-and-found tells a story. At 911 Cell Phone Bank, we transform these lost items into tools for change, providing lifelines to victims in need. With an expansive network of law enforcement and victim services agencies, as shown on the attached map, our reach spans across the country. This blog will explore how our supporters and partners contribute to this impactful mission and how every donation can help save lives.
The map above illustrates the scope of our collaboration with law enforcement and victim services agencies, showcasing a widespread network committed to supporting victims of abuse and human trafficking. From bustling metropolitan areas to small towns, we work with communities to make a difference. Each green marker represents a law enforcement or victim agency actively using phones sent in by supporters (red marker) to 911 Cell Phone Bank. These devices support victims and enable access to emergency services.
These partnerships are vital to ensure that victims have the means to call for help, connect with support networks, and begin rebuilding their lives. By equipping agencies nationwide, we extend a lifeline to individuals who need it most.
Our process begins with generous supporters who donate cell phones and other electronic devices. These donations originate from a wide array of sources, such as lost and found departments at hotels, transportation hubs, theme parks, large venues, and many other establishments. Additionally, companies upgrading to newer technology contribute by responsibly disposing of their outdated devices, while individuals also participate, driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact. Here’s what happens next:
The devices we provide are not just communication tools; they’re symbols of hope and survival. For victims of domestic violence, these phones offer a safe way to reach emergency services, connect with loved ones, or contact a shelter. For survivors of human trafficking, having access to a phone can be the first step towards freedom and recovery.
Our mission relies on the generosity of supporters like you. By donating unused or unclaimed (lost-and-found or property-and-evidence room) devices, you’re directly contributing to the safety and well-being of those in crisis. Whether you’re an individual, a company with a lost-and-found department, a law enforcement agency with a property-and-evidence room, or part of an organization looking to make an impact, your device donations matter.
Join us in helping vulnerable persons in need. Let’s work together to expand this network of hope and resilience. Visit 911cellphonebank.org to learn more and start donating devices today.
